This semester I had a lot of fun in this class. I got to read some very good books but my favorite is Li’l Rabbit’s Kwanzaa by Donna L. Washington, it has great illustrations that complement the story well and is very informative about the holiday of Kwanzaa. I have heard about Kwanzaa before I read the book but did not know why it was celebrated or who celebrated. After reading the book, I now know that people of African heritage celebrate Kwanzaa as a way to remember the struggle their ancestors had to endure and to be thankful for what they have now. I have found a new sense of joy when reading because of this class, I really enjoy having that time to be able to sit down and read a good book and be able to reflect on it. I really enjoyed
