Why should castration be a sentencing option for a judge?
Is justice being served when castracting someone or is it revenge?

David Wayne Jones, 33, who as a YMCA counselor in the early 1990's molested more than 40 young boys was castrated.
About four years ago, Jones was paroled, only to be reincarcerated when authorities found he was involved in sexual activity with a fellow halfway-house resident. At that time, when confronted with the option of castration, 'he told authorities he didn’t see the need because he realized it was not acceptable to rape children'.

Should castration be available as a sentencing option to judge?
My opinion would be No. First, is sentencing being made through receiving justice or reveng? David Jones did something that was completely unjust and discussing, however castrating someone for molesting an individual is pretty extreme. Its terrible enough that he's served or is still serving sometime in prison. But what if he's all of a sudden changed his life around after being release, How could he potentially start a family?
