In Lifespan Development we performed an observation of Coen on February 25, 2015 over Skype. With this observation we observed Coen a thirteen-month-old male of his physical, cognitive, and socio-emotional development. The observation took place in CL1320. During the time the class was observing Coen. During that time I noticed that Coen seemed to be growing steadily and also we was part of the average and developing at an average rate. He also was getting his own personality. This does not mean that a child will not grow at the same average rate as every other child. This is all based on years of information that has been gathered to determine what they average weight, height, development happens at. There are going to be children that do not follow the average or start out as being part of the average and then they stop growing with all the other kids that could be part of the average. In the paper I am going to compare Coen’s development to that of an average child. A child is not going to be the same as the next child. This means that he can do things with his emotions instead of using only his words. He has the ability as I mention up above to imitate expression, which all child can, but there is a debate as to what age they can imitate expressions. Coen loves to laugh and he also is an easygoing kid. He even has a good temperament that is not going to be true for all children some can be a difficult child, easy child, or a slow-to-warm-up child (Santrock, 2014). This does not mean that at some point Coen will be a difficult child that just means that he is not going to act negatively about everything. He also does not have any attachment issues. He is not specifically attached to one parent he favors both parents
