The impact of character’s traits influences decisions made later on in a piece of literature that may cause an alternate outcome. In The Hobbit by, J.R.R Tolkien, the dwarves main goal is to retrieve their gold from Smaug, a fire breathing dragon that resides in the misty mountains. The dwarves hard working and gritty characteristics help to successfully achieve this goal.
