In the novel by Mark Haddon, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, the author tries to convey that one cannot hide the truth from the people they love. Throughout the story as Christopher begins to uncover the death of Wellington, he begins to draw closer to the truth that had been kept from him, but in the process, although Christopher is not one to lie, he himself had become deceitful; telling white lies to his father in order to achieve his goal.
