Littering is a very serious problem that is constantly overlooked in today's society. Litter consists of waste that has been disposed improperly, without permission, at an inappropriate location. In my community, I constantly see litter being casually thrown around, and it affects the overall environment around it, making it look unpleasant.
Who Does Littering Affect
Locals: Littering can affect drinking water and sanitation within a household due to pollutants and bacteria from the litter seeping into household services.
Businesses: Litter impacts a company's decision to create a business in the community.
Government: Littering affects the government because the government will be forced to enact new laws and invest more money in programs that clean up the environment …show more content…
Incentives: Enforcing littering laws can have the incentive of not being fined that large amount if they don't litter. Investing in more trash cans can lead to the owner to gain more profit due to the high demand. Creating clean-up groups will lead to an overall healthier living and environment.
Externalities from Solutions: Positive externalities can be creating friendships through the process of cleaning up your community and more jobs being created; negative externalities can be the large amount of money and labor that will be required. Without people to clean up, the environment won't clean itself! Analyze
Solution #1: Solution one requires direct aid from the government. But then again, it is slightly the government's duty to protect the people of the nation. Though enforcing these laws may be costly, it is great way to bring awareness to the
