AP GOV Requirement 1
My Ideology
My name is Anthony Jackson, and I am a strong supporter of individual rights and liberal ideologies. Most of the political discussion I have with people are bipartisan, and I try to not impose any sort of view onto others when having a talk about current affairs. Things like the middle east, border control, poverty in the US, and our foreign policy are things I feel as though are better left to experts, but when brought to my attention, I feel as though I’m just not in a place to comment on such things. How can I say whether the United States is right to go into a war that I’m not fighting in, or anybody that I know is fighting in? How can I say the border needs to be watched more meticulously, when I don’t live anywhere near there and don’t feel as large of an impact on those who are affected by it? My place isn’t that of a debater or that of a radical left or right. If something seems right after reading into it, then I’ll stand by it. I’ll never stand completely by some party or personality if I know for a fact that they are wrong, and I’ll especially never place a strong opinion on that with which doesn’t affect me. The only thing that I know for certain that do good are volunteer groups and disaster relief groups. Most of the humanitarian aid responders act without a party’s interests, which is obviously the way things should be in the field of disaster relief. All in all, my political opinions sway greatly
