American Dream in Death of a Salesman
Throughout the book, different concepts of American Dream can be detected through generations. Although the characters of each generation have the same American Dream –to have a better future with wealth, they have different ways to pursuit it and at the end it is up to their determination and hard work to achieve their dreams or not.
Father Loman: He is the father of Willy and Ben. He was “a very great and very wild-hearted man”. He made a lot of money selling flutes in the towns across the country tossing his family into wagons. Father Loman’s American Dream turned out to be real through hard work and determination. Throughout the play, each character had the dream of going to west because it was, in
