In this article, the effects of divorce on children is examined. A qualitative approach is conducted in which a field study is used to conduct interviews of divorced couples within a two year span and their children. Simple random-sampling, a type of probability sampling design is used. The contribution of this research focuses on a better understanding of what obstacles children face in their developmental stages when they are faced with the challenges and burdens of coping with their parents’ divorce. I hypothesize that children who come from divorced families will experience higher levels of stress that will result in psychological effects on their overall development.

In Mediation and Moderation of Divorce Effects on Children's Behavior Problems I was able to learn how the internalizing and externalizing behavior of children is altered when they are effected by their parents’ divorce. In How Children View Their Parents' Divorce, it was interesting to learn what children had to say for themselves about what was going on in their household now that their parents have separated. In Mothering Mothers, I learned that the phase children go through when dealing with their parents’ divorce is not only limited to their childhood, but those effects can carry over to how they function in adulthood. In Longitudinal Effects of Divorce on the Quality of the Father-Child Relationship and On Fathers' Psychological Well-Being, it was great to get insight on how the child’s relationship with the father changes once the father has moved out of the household due to divorce. Further signs of anxiety, depression, behavioral status and educational status will be evaluated as a part of psychological aspect. Questionnaire method will be followed along with observational studies to arrive at the conclusion of severity scores and diagnosis. Hence there will be both subjective and objective analysis that will be carried out to provide robustness to our research purpose. The parameters like height, weight, nutritional status and BMI of children from both divorced groups and non-divorced groups will be evaluated through t- tests.
