In William Shakespeare's play Romeo And Juliet there are many characters responsible for Romeo's death. The play starts in Verona with the character Romeo who is a
Montague. He loves a young woman named Rosaline but later meets another young woman named Juliet, who is a Capulet. One day after they meet they decide to marry each other, but things go bad when Romeo kills a man named Tybalt, Juliet's cousin. He is then exiled and Juliet is forced to marry a man named Paris. She fakes her death to escape marriage but Romeo is told she is dead. Romeo heads back to Verona and sees Juliet “dead”and takes his own life, and when Juliet awakes and sees Romeo dead, she takes her own as well. In William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet Friar Lawrence, Romeo, and Lord Capulet are most responsible for Romeo’s death, even though many other characters played a part.

Lord Capulet is Juliet’s father and he plays the biggest role in Romeo’s death. In the play, before Juliet meets the friar to set up the plan to escape marriage, Lord Capulet tells Juliet that she will marry Paris (a man with a good looks and a good family). Lord Capulet says to Juliet “Go with Paris to saint peter’s church, / Or I will drag [you there]”(3.1.154-155). After this Juliet goes to the friar to seek help, causing the unfortunate events that happened later in the play “Romeo’s death”. Then when the friar tells Juliet to go home and tell Lord Capulet that she is going to marry Paris so that their plan will go smoother, he changes the day of their wedding from Thursday to Wednesday, screwing up their whole plan! Lord Capulet says to Juliet “Send for the county, go tell him of this / I’ll have this knot knit up [on Wednesday morning]”(4.2.23-24). Lord Capulet is responsible for Romeo’s death because he forces Juliet to marry Paris, and changes Juliet’s wedding day from Thursday to
