Hearing/Appeal Process Building administration shall conduct an investigation of an offense on the first school day following report of the offense. Based on the investigation, penalties as listed in a, b, and c shall be implemented. The student’s parents will be notified in writing of the assigned penalties. Any student suspended under b or c above, may request an appeal hearing. This hearing shall occur as close to the date of the infraction as possible, but not longer than five school days following the infraction. Members of the appeal hearing committee may include: the student, parents, coach(s), guidance representative, Student Assistance Counselor, or Building Administrator.

RAMSEY PUBLIC SCOHOOLS – ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING REGULATIONS The Ramsey Board of Education acknowledges its responsibility to establish policy and regulations related to the eligibility and training of student-athletes. The following are, therefore, applicable to all student-athletes participating in the Ramsey Public Schools’ Athletic Program. Coaches have the obligation to establish regulations specific to their sport. Student-athletes may be suspended from a team for infractions of either team or District regulations. Building administration shall conduct an investigation of an offense of the first school day following report of the offense. Based upon the investigation, the penalties as outlined in these regulations shall be implemented. If suspension is warranted, the suspension shall begin immediately following the meeting with building administration. The student’s parents will be notified in writing of the assigned penalties. Any student being suspended from participation for a second or third violation may request an appeal hearing. An appeal process hearing may include the student-athlete, parents, Coach, Athletic Director, guidance representative, Student Assistance Counselor, and Building Administration. This hearing shall occur as close to the date of the infraction as possible, but not longer than five school days following the infraction. Written communication of hearing results will be forwarded to the student-athlete’s parents and appropriate administration
