Piggy is the closes to adulthood because he has experienced things other kids have not. He has lost his father and is suggested his mother left him. Also he knows things random facts that most kids wouldn't know about an example being the conch.
11 Piggy indirectly blew the conch because he told Ralph how to blow it. Without Piggy the conch would have never been blew.
