With the careful use of rhetorical strategies, Lou Gehrig managed to effectively channel his emotions to the audience and get his point across.

As a rhetoric element, Repetition can be used in writing to make emphasis on a certain subject, topic, or emotion in a piece of writing. Gehrig uses repetition to help explain his current feelings on the state of his life/medical condition. There are two main phrases that Gehrig repeats as the speech progresses.
