Louis David Riel was born in 1844 in Red River Settlement but now known as wingapegg Ontario. Riel was known as a political leader of the Metis people. Louis Riel is a traitor because in 1870 he ordered the mentis firing squad to kill thomas scott after scott threatened to kill Riel but Riel killed scott anyway. I know louis Riel is a traitor because he ordered his men to kill scott. Riel was a leader but that does not cover up that he made a bad call to kill thomas scott and is responsible for his death.
Louis Riel and the Red River Rebellion
On october 16, 1869 louis became secretary, the canadians were going to take over red river rebellion on december 1, 1869, red river was going to try to limit the canadians passage to come to red river until things go back to normal, however the committee sent a letter to ottawa to tell them what was going on in Red River. The committee did not want William Mcdougall to enter Red River without the committees persuasion but Mcdougall went to Red River anyway, when he got there the national members of metis brought him and his party to the united states border, then Mcdouall felt humiliated and returned to ottawa. The Red River resistance had began. Riel was one of the groups leaders. In december they formed a provisional or temporary, government.
