In the world there are leaders and followers, the leaders have certain traits that separate themselves from the followers. Similarly, Patrick Mahomes and Malcolm Macbeth are great leaders because they are hardworking and motivate their teammates. First, Patrick Mahomes is a great leader because he works hard. Mahomes is a great player, not just because of his skill but his work ethic as well. Peyton Manning says, “I hope they know he’s also an incredibly hard worker” (Manning). This shows that people can see Mahomes working hard to make himself better. His other teammates look up to him, so they work harder when they see him working hard. Mahomes does exactly that for his teammates, which has led the Kansas City Chiefs to back-to-back Super Bowls. Malcolm is similarly a great leader because he is motivating and smart. Malcolm motivates others and tells them what to do, for example, “Be this the whetstone of your sword”. Let grief convert to anger. Blunt not the heart, enrage it” (Shakespeare 4.3.228-229). Part of being a great leader is to pick other people up, not just themselves. A leader who cannot elevate others to be like them is not much of a leader. With Malcolm's motivation, the army won the battle just as the Chiefs would not have won the Superbowl without Mahomes. Furthermore, Malcolm is smart; he uses quick thinking to give his troops advantages in the battle, for instance, when Malcolm says, “Let every soldier hew him down a bough And bear't before him” (Shakespeare 5.4.4-5).
