Machu Picchu is now frequently visited for the beautiful sight on the tall peak of the mountain. Machu Picchu is located near in the wild jungles of eastern Peru. The ruins are located on the peaks of the Andes Mountains, “some two thousand feet above the rushing Urubamba River” stated in source 1: The stones of Machu Picchu. After its take over by the spanish conqueror in the 1530’s it was then visited by people like Pedro Cieza de león, a soldier, and his father. They recorded their findings on Inca rituals, social structure, and engineering. Machu Picchu was visited before it was found by other people.
