In Madeleine Roux’s Asylum, High School student Daniel Crawford , is audacious, considerate, and intelligent. For example, Dan is audacious when he notices that Felix is not in their room and risks getting killed to find and save Felix (Roux 239). Under the circumstances, most people would protect themselves but Dan goes to the fifth floor and fights back against the killer. Muscular arms and a shield represent audacious because they both show strength, bravery and boldness. In addition, Dan shows consideration for others when he stops and thinks about how Abby will feel when he tells her about the mysterious email he finds (82). Even though Dan is eager to tell, he decides to keep his mysterious findings a secret so he will not upset his friends
