The second object that I chose is “Madonna and Child” which was attributed to Taddeo di Bartolo. This Italian, Byzantine piece was made around 1400. It’s a Theotokos, which is a popular icon that is still made today. This object is a painting that is on a carved, wooden panel. The wooden panel acts as a border to the main image and a display in general. On the bottom of the image on the wood border, there is an inscription which appears to be in another language. The wood curves up at the top of the image into an arch, which has a leaf pattern on it. There are also wood carvings coming out from behind the wooden panel at the sides at the top, which also appear to be in a leaf pattern. The painting itself displays the virgin Mary and
