Gandhi and his followers engaged in non-violent actions to show the world the evil of British rule. After the Salt March was over, Gandhi organized the Dharasana Satyagraha, a peaceful protest at the Dharasana Salt Works. As soon as it commenced, "scores of native police... rained blows on their (Gandhi’s followers) heads with their steel-shod", but through the leadership of Madame Naidu, not a single one of the protesters “even raised an arm to fend off the blows” (Doc B). Fortunately for Gandhi, an American reporter named Webb Fisher recorded the unjust actions enacted by the British, which was then published around “1350 newspapers around the world” (Doc B).
