Have you ever been unsure? How did you get back to reassurance? I will focus on the two individuals in my essay, Hatshepsut and Perseus. Both took steps to move forward when they were uncertain. For example, Hatshepsut took the bold step of crowning herself Pharoh at just 15 years old. Another character that also took a bold step when they were unsure was Perseus, even though he was unsure about killing Medusa he still took on the mission of slaying her. These characters took action and risk when unsure and succeeded in their missions. In contrast, Perseus got help while Haspshut didn't when he got supplies from the gods in the passage. Perseus was motivated by fame when Athena promised Perseus a place among the gods; in paragraph 4 it says “So you will bring it safely back to me and win yourself renown and a place among the heroes who feast with the immortals upon the peak where no winds blow” this motivated Perseus to slay Medusa. Another example of something that motivated him was all the supplies the gods gave him, this made him more confident in slaying Medusa. A character that helped Perseus on his journey was Altas the Giant. Altas the Giant helped Perseus by sending his nieces down to get the invisible hat because mortals could not go there. This is evidenced in paragraph 37 which says “No living mortal can find that hat, for it lies in the depth of the head in the regions of the dead. But my nieces are immortal and they shall fetch it for you.” This shows Atlas the giant who helped Perseus by getting the invisible hat for him and helping him complete his mission of slaying Medusa. Another character that helped Perseus complete his mission was Hermus, Hermes gave Perseus winged shoes in paragraph 7 that would help Perseus slay Medusa. We
