A Sharp Shooting Legion BY:JOSEPHINE Lily RICE-PRANCKUN It may be surprising to know that Poebe ‘Ann’ Moses, betterly known as Annie Okaly, is a reason many women are inspired to pursue their dreams. Annie had a short, but very exciting life; she had Basic events and Information, many Major Accomplishments, and a great lasting legacy.
Basic Information
A lot of people do or did crazy things, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t do normal things, or have a childhood. Annia Okaly’s birthright name is Phoebe ‘Ann’ Moses, she changed it when she married Frank Butler, and became a sharpshooting legion. She was born on August 13, 1860 in Darke County, Ohio and grew up in a rough settlers cabin. Her family suffered a loss, as it says in her biography, “Sadly, Jacob Moses died of pheunmonia when Annie was five years old. He left her mother, Susan, with six young children to care for.” At age six she became veary interested in her father's gun, and began to hunt for her family's meals. Everyone has to have a calm side.…show more content… She performed in circuses in America, London, Europe, all over the world. Annie had been adopted by Sitting Bull, a Native American War Prisoner who had lost his biological daughter to the war. As her biography says, “She became a sharp-shooting Legion!” At one point in her life she was paid the same amount as the president of the United States. Many people know Annie Okaly by these very actions!
