Like major depressive disorder, Dysthymia can be treated but is hard for the person suffering from it to seek help. There is also a depression known as seasonal affective disorder. This disorder is almost the exact same thing as major depressive disorder but it only occurs during a certain time of the year. Another type of depression is called postpartum depression, which is a type of depression women get after giving birth. This depression is caused by hormone changes and may even be life threatening. Depression may even be a side effect of another illness such as cancer, diabetes and more. There are many other different types of depression some of which we are still discovering and learning about today.
