The Big Vote for MYP’s
In July, 2013 I had the most incredible opportunity to stay in
Leeds university accommodation and meet other MYPS up and down the country to talk about our manifesto points for the next year ahead.
These 101 manifesto points were placed in a booklet which we then debated upon, keeping in our mind whether it’s important/ relevant to us as young people. These issues were than re-organized into a list of 20 and put onto a secret ballot online.
As MYP’s, we could vote up to 10 issues online in a secret ballot and the top 15 were taken and placed on a ballot paper for YOU to vote your number ONE issue.

What I voted for• Votes for 16 and 17 year olds in public elections
• Increased Awareness of Youth Democracy
• Equality in Relationships
• End Child poverty now
• Better work experience and careers advice
• UN conventions for rights of the child
• A coordinated exam timetable
• ZERO tolerance towards bullying in schools
• Our minds matter- better mental health services
• Legal Rights
THE ONES THAT ARENT CROSSED OUT ARE THE THINGS THAT CAME EITHER THE
SAME OR SIMLIAR RE PHRASED TOPICS IN THE TOP 15 ISSUES OF ALL MYPS
