In Malcoff v. Coyier, the court ruled in favor of Plaintiff Lloyd Coyier based on his testimony alone which showed an enforceable contract between the defendants. In addition, Coyier had several witnesses that testified in his favor. Defendants Paul I.Malcoff and his wife owned one hundred sixty acres of land in Prescott. They reached out to the Plaintiff in hopes to have him helped with working the land. Plaintiff had previous mining experience. The plan was to work the land and sale it for a larger amount to make profit. Defendants and Plaintiff agreed to pay Plaintiff twenty five percent of the profit of any sale made of the land and in addition to twenty dollar per acre. The land was sold by defendants on August 1964 for five hundred per
