Malcolm Gladwell Malcolm Gladwell is one of the most influential, prominent and inventive writers in the Twenty-First century. Not only is Gladwell a well known traditional journalist for the New Yorker, Gladwell is also a successful public speaker and makes podcasts, a media that is still relatively new and unused. This unique take on writing allowed him to reach a large audience and allow him to impact the world around him in a equally unique and grand way that lead him to accumulatie a number of awards throughout his 22 year career. Unable to continue his education, Gladwell searched for a career in advertising however once again he faced rejection and had to seek for a new course of action. In his search for his next plan, Gladwell moved to Indiana where he was finally offered a job at The American Spectator, a self titled conservative U.S. monthly magazine with “Witty Political and Cultural Commentary”(spectator.org website description). While working for The American Spectator, Gladwell also began writing for Insight on the News, another American conservative print and online news magazine where Gladwell expressed and developed his writing interests, adding to his 10,000 hour quota needed to become an expert in his field. By 1987, Gladwell’s name began appearing as author of articles for the Washington Post covering topics of science and business.
