Malcolm X was sentence in prison for 10 years, but fortunately he got out of prison in 7 years due to his good behavior. He decided to educate himself to past time. He wanted to avoid trouble so he wouldn’t gain more time in prison. The system in prison influence the behavior of Malcolm to go through prison peacefully. The material condition in prison was that Malcolm spend most of his time behind bars. He had a bed to sleep in and food to survive. He educate himself in the prison cell by copying and reading a dictionary. In addition, he learned many things about the origin of black men base on books that he had access to in the prison library.
