2. IP Issues “A trademark is a recognizable sign, design or expression which identifies products or services of a particular source from those of others.”(Trademark legal basics)The trademark owner can be an individual, business organization, or any legal entity. In this event I saw the Water Fire was a registered trademark, which located on the brochures. In my opinion, trademark is very important to commerce because it can guarantee the legal rights of the businessmen and make sure the commercial activities run in a legal way
3. Insurance and contracts
Insurance part: In my opinion, there were three basic types of event insurance the event manager should have obtained. The first one was liability insurance. It was a part of the general insurance system, which covered risks of being sued or held responsible for damage. Liability insurers had three functions: ①The duty to defend; ② The duty to indemnify and in some jurisdictions; ③ The duty to settle a reasonably clear claim. The second one was property insurance. It provided protection for most risks to property, such as loss and theft. The last one was special insurance. It protected financially, including against weather damage, cancellation and business interruption.
Contracts part:
① The sponsor should sign a contract with the organizer;
② The sponsor should sign a contract with the insurance company;
③ The sponsor should sign a contract with the supplier;
④ The sponsor should sign a contract with the stall keeper.
4. Crowd control Crowd control is controlling of a crowd. It usually used in event management. Water Fire is a big event in providence. Crowd control is really a very important problem in this event.
