Stressful and repetitive work tasks can have negative psychological effects on employees over time. Work tasks with absolutely no room for creativity or professional growth can be psychologically stressful to employees. Also tasks in which employees do not fully comprehend the strategic relevance and productive contributions of what they are doing. Consequences of the type of psychological stress that arises when employers structure human jobs to resemble machines' jobs include steadily decreasing productivity, increasing production mistakes and losing employees to competitors.
Dysfunctional coworker relationships, or hostile relationships between supervisors and subordinates, can have corrosive effects on employee morale, boosting everyone's stress levels. Stressful workplace relationships introduce personal biases, emotional considerations and politics into a company, potentially incurring the consequences of lost productivity and efficiency due to a lack of
