When Mansa Musa traveled from Niani to Mecca,he did it because it was a purely religious trip,but the way the trip was executed makes it seem as if there’s other motives to why Mansa Musa did this trip in the first place.This entire trip shows how much Mansa Musa was trying to in a way advertise Mali the entire trip to Mecca by showing how wealthy and powerful he was. To start,Mansa Musa brought “24,000 pounds of gold” with him during the trip,which is an amazingly large amount of gold for just a trip to Mecca that only took about 4 months to complete(Document A).Though he brought all of that gold with him during the trip,and that was to give out to towns and villages he passed by,so much so that somebody from Cairo went on to say Mansa
