Mara Salvatrucha is a notorious sheet gang formed in the inner city streets of Los Angeles, California. The MS13 street gang is one of the most feared gangs across the United States. Its member include both girls and boys of various ages.
Mara Salvatrucha are made up of Salvadorans and other Central American immigrants. Most of these members are said to be undocumented immigrants. It was started in Los Angeles, California in the 1980’s by Salvadorans fleeing the war. They originally formed to protect themselves against other gangs who targeted the refugees.
