Realism in Literature Fictional literature is often written in a way that it accurately represents society making it more than just a story to the readers. The author does not intentionally do this, but the stories are written in such a way, that readers are able to make a connection. Whether it is a small connection, like a real place or event, or a larger connection that teachers them a life lesson. Literary realism adds great depth to a piece of literature, elaborating all the little details that are in the writing providing the final touch by bringing the novel or film to life.
