The ship and sea on the stamp go together and represent two things. First of all,the Polos used ships to cross many different bodies of water so that they could reach their destinations. One specific body of water the Polos crossed was the Mediterranean Sea to reach Acre. Another thing that the boat symbolizes is as you can see it is a bit more “worn out.” This represents the boats that the Polos came to in Hormuz that were untrustworthy and obviously would not hold up for the entire sea journey. Due to coming upon these useless boats, the Polos had to reroute and head for the city of Kashgar by land instead. The third picture on the stamp is a horse.
