Code of Ethics
Ethics is a serious matter when it comes to any idea, material, or project. Ethics establishes a limit between originality, stealing, and how one should act in an ever changing technology environment. The dictionary defines ethics as moral principles that govern a person's or group's behavior. Without these Code of Ethics in place people could take credit for the works that other people deserve. It is morally understood and recognized that falsely obtain information is wrong and misrepresent themselves. IEEE has established a Code of Ethics in the Professional Activities section of their policies. Plagiarizing during the development stages of trying to earn a degree can affect multiple areas of a student’s career. The most prominent factor for plagiarizing is being expelled from the university. Administration takes plagiarism seriously because it shows that the student sees no fault with cheating and if the student thinks that stealing someone else’s idea is okay and he/she graduates it would reflect badly on the university. Plagiarism shows that the student is willing to break the rules to get ahead and sees nothing morally wrong with it. If the plagiarism goes unchecked, if/when the student graduates this could lead to corrupt habits in the professional industry. Piracy as defined as the unauthorized use or reproduction of another's work from Google search. Piracy is similar to plagiarism in which the work of others are being stolen .Piracy is viewed as a victimless crime but in fact there is a victim from such an act. It takes the effort of multiple people to create a work or art; whether it be videos, books, or pictures. The individual who puts in the work to create this work expects to be compensated for he/her efforts, financial or public recognition. When digital copies are taken without permission the author
