She’s sitting across from thousands of strangers she has no clue about, while the audience, at the very least, has an idea of her as an artist. To be honest I’m not sure if she’s sitting there as a person or as her public image suggests, a persona. This actually makes no difference for Marina’s point of view because, as I’ve come to appreciate her career and her works, she simply finds ways to challenge herself. Even after having such an impact in the art world and becoming a celebrity-artist, the purpose of her art remains the same: a pursuit for validation, peace, comfort, happiness and love.
