Marine DEP Program

After high school, I plan on going to boot camp for the Marines. During September of last year I decided to enlist into the Marine DEP program, since then every Tuesday and Saturday, once a month, I have gone down to the recruiters office to do some training. I have enlisted to be a 0311 or a rifleman, you may call it.

As a 0311, rifleman, my job is to be able to use the M16M4/A4 service rifle, the M203 grenade launcher, and the M27 Infantry Automatic Rifle (or the IAR for short). It will be used for scouting, attacking, and close range combat. I would work for MAGTF a marine infantry organization, they are the nucleus of the fire team in the rifle squad.

You will have to be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident. Be at least 17 years old (with parental consent) or 18 years old without parental consent. Conduct, Marines are expected to conduct themselves professionally and uphold the values of the Marine Corps, including honor, courage, and commitment. Dress code, Marines must adhere to the strict dress and grooming standards set forth by the Marine Corps. Physical fitness, Marines are required to maintain a high level of physical fitness and pass regular fitness tests.
