Markus Koch wrote an interesting and debatable article on the effects of football and how we view it as spectators. Koch used to play for the Washington Redskins and went to the 1988 Super Bowl. Once he left the NFL he became a holistic health practitioner. He argues that football glorifies the extreme athleticism the athletes show but they do not show the effects of violent hits and/or events from one injury leading to the next game. He wants 'game suits' invented so spectators can wear them and know what it feels like to be tackled by a 350-pound linebacker (Koch, 2016).
