The people were surprised that Rebecca Nurse was accused because she was a kindly woman with many grandchildren. She also helped with the births of most of the town people. Ann Putnam thought Rebecca Nurse put a curse on her seven children she had but died in infancy. Martha Corey was reading strange books besides the bible so she most likely to be accused of witchcraft because she read strange books. Though she was innocent she was hanged. Abigail wanted anyone in her way to Proctor she accused them of witchcraft so they were hanged, but John Proctor was accused of witchcraft as well so Abigail couldn't get him at all instead he was hanged. Also John Proctor’s family was suspicious because one of his children was not baptized and he couldn't remember all of the commandments. The negatives of the accused was that the men and women were accused of witchcraft even though they didn’t do it . The people were still hanged for it.
