Everyone knows that famous “I have a dream speech.” Everyone knows the legacy Martin Luther King Jr. lived “King is also universally recognized as one of the greatest American leaders of all ( “Smith, Robert C.”). However, not everyone truly knows about his assassination. How he died is sad, but it’s important to know. My advice to Martin Luther King is to not walk inside of his motel room. Right as he walked in he was shot. Dr. King was a great man who changed the world one speech at a time, when he was killed the whole world was devastated. Martin Luther King was one of the greatest civil rights activist to ever live. Besides him being arrested multiple times the worst thing to happen to him before his death was getting stabbed. “ Suddenly, a deranged African-American women plunged a knife deep into his chest. There are many different reasons onto why this happened, but the two most popular is the government and his own personal reasons. “ King had sought to alter the white power structure, and also opposed the Vietnam War ( 1959-75), which many in government saw as crucial in the fight against communism. Believers in the conspiracy alleged that the government had killed King because he posed a threat to its interest” ( Assassination of Martin Luther King Jr.). People found this very valid since he would speak about the Vietnam War a lot and the government didn’t like that. “ Ray killed King on his own either out of prejudice or a desire for fame, or in the belief that he would receive a 50,000 dollar reward known to have been offered by two Southern businessmen to anyone who killed King” ( Assassination of Martin Luther King Jr).
