Peaceful resistance towards laws has positive impacts upon a free society because it is an opportunity for citizens to voice their opinions and beliefs while remaining respectful. While not followed through in all cases, remaining peaceful while speaking out produces a cooperative attitude. This kind of situation usually involves negotiations which are more productive and often safer. Several instances when resistance involves violence are prime examples which display why peaceful resistance is the better alternative. Various events in history have showcased different dynamics when it comes to protests and other forms of legislative opposition. Her lack of peace in the way she promoted and voiced her views probably hindered many from hearing her out and considering the thoughts and opinions she was trying to initiate. Today, frequent instances of protest are still prevalent. The Black Lives Matter movement is becoming bigger than ever as they continue to protest for racial equality within society. Differing groups voice their mission in different ways. While some peacefully protest in streets and public places where it is allowed and informed towards police., there have also been situations where protests have involved physical violence and disruption of traffic safety. Recently, a group of protesters blocked and cut off a major intersection on 50th and France in Edina, Minnesota for multiple hours. However, at North Dakota State University, a form of peaceful resistance to authority produced productive and effective results which were safe logical. The University was planning to construct a new building complex over an area where students enjoyed studying and socializing outside.
