Mary Mackillop lived out all of the Sacred Heart Goals, however the one that I believe that was an extremely important one she would have followed is “a social awareness which impels to action”. Mary began to care for the poor at the very young age of 18 years old. Her social awareness of the children on the streets without parents living by themselves led her to setting up all of the schools of Saint Joseph. In the year of Mary Mackillop’s death she said a quote which I believe is really inspiring especially to all of those who look up to her or wish to follow in her footsteps. “Find happiness in making others happy”.
