The story is chronologically laid out so the reader can smoothly understand the series of events. The story is told through Victor, and in parts through the monster, allowing the reader to learn of both sides. Thus enabling the reader to have a better understanding of the theme. Victor speaks in anger, “When I reflected on his crimes and malice, my hatred and revenge burst all bounds of moderation. “ Later on he states, I, not in deed, but in effect, was the true murderer. “ Due to Mary Shelley’s layout the reader can see the development of Victor Frankenstein’s character. Once Victor learned of his little brother William’s death he broke out in anger for his creature. Blaming the monster for the death of his brother, wanting nothing more to extinguish the monster from his life. As the story continues to develop Victor’s blame moves from the monster to himself. He has now come to the realization that all of the tragic events all go back to him. If he hadn’t created his monster none of the events would’ve taken
