Meet Mary Van Helsing, the daughter of Abraham Van Helsing and his second wife, Anneliese Beaulieu-Heller. Born September 18th, 1976 in London England, Mary lived an uneventful life until the age of three and a half. Three weeks before Mary’s fourth birthday, her mother discovered the dark secret that her father had kept hidden eighty-something years, deep in the pages of a worn leather journal.

He guarded the sarcophagus that contained Dracula’s remains and used the creatures tainted blood to prolong his life until he discovered a way to eradicate the vampire. Anneliese knew instantly that her husband’s past had come to haunt them. She packed their bags and booked a flight headed to Paris in the hopes they could live in peace. Little did she know that wouldn’t be the case.

For the next nine years, they would go on to live in Paris, Vancouver and last New Orleans.

Mary and her mother arrived in the late summer of 1989, three weeks before the new school year. For the third time in her thirteen years of life, Mary adjusted to being the new girl at school, when she enrolled at De La Salle High School. On her first day of school, she met Lucy Westerman, the daughter of August and Cecilia Westerman, who volunteered to show her around the school. Realizing that they shared many of the same interest, the girls became inseparable and promised to protect one another as long as they remained friends.
