Dr. Maulana Karenga was conceived Ronald McKinley Everett on a poultry ranch in Parsonsburg, Maryland on July 14, 1941. He was the seventh child and fourteenth offspring of a baptist pastor. Ronald Everette would eventally change his name 20 years after the fact to Maulana Karenga which deciphers as "Expert Teacher". Maulana Karenga made Kwanzaa in 1966. His objective was to make the main African American occasion. Dr. Karenga has served on the Executive Committees of a few Conferences, Events and Organizations devoted to inspiring and teaching African Americans.
