Teacake is trustworthy, meaning everything that he says to Janie. According to Rosenblatt’s essay called “Their Eyes Were Watching God”, he comments on the discovery of Teacake in Janie’s life. He stated that Teacakes presence in Janie’s life was significant because, Janie was able to fall in love, and stay in love.
