Case Study on M.B.

This is a case study on a volunteer in early the early adult-hood life-span stage. M.B. is a twent-one year old African-American male. He is the first born of two. He attends Grambling State University in Grambling, Louisiana, which is an eight hour drive from is home. He lives with his mother, step-father and younger brother when is not away at school. He lives off campus which is made up of all college students. He grew up outside of Atlanta, Georgia in Jonesboro and Fairburn, Georgia. This development is evidenced by getting the most out of life by asking questions, being open to new ideas, learning new skills, and studying effectively. M.B. appears to be very intelligent. His academic success has followed him to college. He has been on the President?s list, Dean?s list and honor roll. He had one rough semester during his sophomore year. M.B. stated that, ?he had to learn how to balance classes and baseball, due to baseball having to travel a lot?. His thought process is clear, you can see based on his ability to get back on track after the bad semester he had. His attention span is good. He shared a story with me that was told to him by his mother. She told him that she would not let them watch short cartoons when they were younger that often. Instead she rather them watch Disney movies. Her logic was that the movies last longer and we would sit there longer intrigued by the movie for at least an hour or hour and half. He said she seemed to think this help my brother and I. We both had a laugh, because he said he has ben able to stay focus. His memory is great. I asked him to share some things from his early childhood and the way he explained was vivid. The ability for him to reason seems on
