Prisoners are People too In the first paper that I have written, I argued about how Malawi’s submission to years of colonial control and manipulation had resulted to a broken and failed system of governance that is well reflected through the country’s prison system. I furthermore discussed and analyzed the health and social conditions inside the prisons, drawing upon the theory of social suffering.
Writing about the issue had allowed me to reflect. It made me think of the American prison system and if it is any different from the Malawian prison system when it comes to the regulation of the living conditions within the prison walls.
