Many of the archers were peasants, so they wore either stockings or tunics along with leather boots. This is what most peasants wore because the clothing was simple to make from the wool of a sheep and fairly plain. Only a wealthy person was allowed to wear stylish and elaborate clothing. Over these, patches of metal, leather, and cloth were strapped for protection. The archers clothing was different than that of the upper class who wore, Nice material, bright colours and a long jacket, which were all signs of wealth. Everyone in the family would share the two rooms in the house as sleeping quarters. The roof of the house was thatched and weak. There was no chimney but instead, a hole in the roof for the smoke to leave. To keep warm, a fire was kept going and woolen hides were used as blankets. Floors were strewn together with rushes and herbs. Whereas, the homes of the wealthy had paved floors, windows and tapestries that hung on walls. The tapestries provided decoration along with warmth. The homes of an archer were very run down and probably really dirty to live in, but at least they kept the rain
