The first common characteristic is the way they all rose. All three of these cities had an amazing location that allowed them to thrive. Both Ur and Babylon in Mesopotamia near the Euphrates River which allowed them to have a virtuous water supply and trade. Rome wasn’t near the Euphrates, however, it was on the Mediterranean which also allowed it to have countless resources; water supply, and trade as well. Another characteristic that they all have in common is that they all had magnificent leaders. These leaders were able to manage these megacities and allow them to thrive in their prime.
