The film that I chose to right a response to is Meshes of the Afternoon. My favorite shot in Maya Deren’s short film Meshes of the Afternoon appears at 7:06 during the film. During this shot, Deren is looking out of a window at herself chasing after the cloaked figure. The shot is a close up of Deren as she looks out of the window at herself running after the cloaked figure. As she looks out the window she sees herself running for the first time. This shot is an objective camera angle because we are not seeing from Deren’s perspective. The shot that precedes this shot is a subjective shot, which makes this a reaction shot to Deren seeing herself through the window running after the cloaked figure.
