Should the U.S Have Gotten Involved With the Michael Fay Case? Michael Fay was charged with theft and vandalism and was sentenced to six strokes of a cane in Singapore. The U.S had gotten involved and reduced the strokes to four. But, should they have gotten involved in the first place. The U.S shouldn’t have gotten involved because he was under Singapore’s laws, he admitted his crimes, and him and his parents should have taken the punishment and gotten on with their life.
